Two Firefighting Helicopters Collide While Battling Wildfire Near Athens, 2 Crew Members Killed

Athens: Two firefighting helicopters collided while battling a massive wildfire near the Greek capital, Athens, killing two crew members, authorities confirmed.
The accident occurred during aerial firefighting operations as Greece continues to battle multiple wildfires across the country. Emergency crews remain on the ground and in the air to contain the rapidly spreading flames.
Greek meteorologist Theodoros Giannaros said that more than 100,000 hectares of land have already been destroyed by the wildfires. Hot weather, strong winds, and prolonged dry conditions have made firefighting efforts increasingly difficult.
Authorities are continuing evacuation operations in affected areas while firefighters work to bring the blazes under control.
